Summary of Position
We are looking for a highly motivated Sr. Web Developer with PHP/MySQL experience for the Geary Interactive Division. The Sr. Web Developer works under limited supervision by the Web Development Director to communicate with clients and/or account executives to translate business logic into programming logic.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with project managers to define and estimate technical scope
• Work with a team of designers to develop high-end websites and applications
• Update and maintain existing web applications and sites
• Basic server administration (LAMP stack)
Experience
Strong front end and back end development experience. Good critical thinking skills, problem solving skills, communication skills (written and verbal), ability to handle multiple projects.
• PHP 5 and strong OOP experience are mandatory
• Experience developing with an MVC framework; knows and implements MVC best practices (we like Kohana but if you have experience with CodeIgniter, Cake, etc. that is fine too)
• Knows JavaScript and jQuery
• Experience using third-party API’s and web services via SOAP, JSON, or XML
• Strong MySQL knowledge (can design tables, write own queries, understand joins, indices and keys)
